K7 Developments is proud to present Brasshouse, our next major development designed for Melbourne.

We always take care to develop in Melbourne’s most established and blue-chip suburbs, and Toorak Road, Hawthorn East, is no exception. Home to leafy streets of heritage mansions and some of Melbourne’s most prestigious schools, this is a highly sought after suburb and one of the city’s finest places to live.

Once again we have collaborated with the award-winning architectural practice of Rothelowman, who have been inspired by the classic beauty of the surrounding Hawthorn East streetscapes, but with a contemporary approach to space, style and materiality.

From its excellent location to its exquisite apartments, from its dynamic exterior to its detailed interiors, we believe every element of Brasshouse shines.

Landmark architecture

The architecture of Brasshouse makes a bold and beautiful statement from every angle. A series of brass ribbons wraps around the entire building, contrasting with dark textured plates which appear to hold the ribbons in place. Throughout the entire building there is a sense of seamless connection and a lustre which will create an address of distinction.

“We’re very proud of our work on Brasshouse,” comments Joshua Amsellem, Design Director at Rothelowman. “We’ve taken our cues from the form and materiality of brass, and that’s resulted in a balance between elegance and playfulness. The brass ribbons give the building an identity, but they also have a practical function by providing privacy to the apartment terraces and allowing light into each living space through tiny perforations.”

Welcome home

The interior design team at Rothelowman has continued the attention to detail and use of brass in the building’s exteriors throughout each apartment in small accents and finishes. These are warm and welcoming spaces, filled with light and highlighted by superb craftsmanship in the high quality timber and carpet flooring, and the elegant cabinetry throughout.

“Our design inspiration has been taken from the name of the building, and the beautiful contrasts which brass presents,” explains Alicia Lynch, Interiors Associate at Rothelowman. “It can be both traditional and modern. It can be polished until it shines, or it can be raw and left to age naturally. There’s something timeless about brass, which is ideal for these homes because we’re designing contemporary living spaces in a very well established location.”
